I-83 Reopens After Tractor-Trailer Fire: Officials
Extensive cleanup was required because of debris, Baltimore County public safety officials reported.
BALTIMORE COUNTY, MD – After fire broke out aboard a tractor-trailer carrying tires, Interstate 83 north was closed Friday morning for several hours near the Maryland-Pennsylvania state line, authorities say.
I-83 north at exit 33 was closed until approximately 10:40 a.m., according to the Maryland State Highway Administration. The blaze broke out after 3 a.m. near Old York Road, according to WJZ.
Crews needed time to remove debris from the site of the fire, which erupted on a 53-foot tractor trailer carrying a full load of rubber tires, officials reported.
