VIDEO: Sparks Goddard School Tries to Break 'Simon Says' Record

Goddard Schools across the country participated in an effort to break the Guinness Record for the world's largest multi-venue game of 'Simon Says.'

In Sparks, the 88 participants included students in Goddard's four preschool classes, some parents and a few school employees. whose two sons attended the school, played the role of Simon. Local media representatives and other community figures served as official witnesses.

The rules stated that all participants must be able to play unassisted, the game must last at least 10 minutes and Simon must make intermixing calls — with and without the instruction of Simon Says — every five seconds.

The game ended with preschool student Skander Kefi, 4, winning in the children's category and employee Callie Gould winning in the adult category.

The current record for the largest multi-venue game of Simon Says involved 12,215 participants at the Utah Summer Games Opening Ceremony on June 14, 2007, according to the Guinness website.

The Goddard School system is in the process of determining the total number of participants nationwide and will submit the results to Guinness.
