• Hyattsville Begins Work on New Trolley Trailhead Park (hyattsvillewire.com) — Work is underway on the second phase of Hyattsville's new park at 5215 Baltimore Ave., transforming The Spot pop-up space into a permanent trailhead hub along the Rhode Island Avenue Trolley Trail. By early 2027, residents can expect a covered performance stage, playground, flexible seating, bike amenities, and a tree-lined path connecting directly to the trail, all funded by $1.4 million in grants.
   

• More than 20 warrants tied to suspect in fatal Brandywine crash (wjla.com) — Hyattsville residents are connected to this case through a 2025 arrest by city police, after officers say they stopped a woman later tied to a deadly wrong-way crash and a long list of theft warrants. Newly obtained court records outline alleged shoplifting sprees at major retailers across several Maryland counties and Virginia, with more than $10,000 in merchandise involved and multiple active warrants still pending.
