• MARC Train launches new direct service between Montgomery County, Baltimore (dcnewsnow.com) — Kensington commuters will soon get a direct weekday MARC connection to Baltimore starting Sept. 28, with one morning train to the city and one evening return. The new Brunswick-Camden run-through links Kensington with Rockville, Gaithersburg, Silver Spring, College Park, Laurel, and more, cutting travel times by up to an hour compared with current options.
   

• Fleeing Driver Dies After Jumping Off I-495 Overpass In Montgomery Co.: State Police (patch.com) — A fatal crash on I-495 in Kensington left an 18-year-old driver dead after he fled on foot and jumped from an overpass onto Stoney Brook Drive Sunday evening. State Police say he had just crashed into a towed pickup near Georgia Avenue and then ran toward Connecticut Avenue before jumping. No one else was injured, and the investigation is ongoing.
