Once started, the construction of the new Laurel Branch Library, which will be almost double the size of its current edifice, is expected to take about 18 months. The new library’s features will include: a dinosaur-themed children’s room, 50 computers, two meeting rooms, a computer lab, multiple study rooms and Wi-Fi. “Prince George’s County libraries are vital community resources,” says Library Director Kathleen Teaze, “in that they provide access to technology, lifelong learning and community life.” “We look forward to providing a state-of-the-art new branch,” she continued, “that will meet community needs now and into the future.”
