Allstate Owners Earn $253,000 for Domestic Violence Nonprofits
The Allstate Foundation grant will support 15 nonprofit organizations in aiding survivors of domestic violence and their families

PRINCE GEORGE’S COUNTY, Md., March 22, 2018 – Prince George’s County-area Allstate agency owners recently joined with others from across the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic to secure a $253,000 Allstate Foundation Helping Hands® grant to benefit 15 domestic violence nonprofits in nine states and the District of Columbia, including the Family Crisis Center of Prince George’s County. The National Network to End Domestic Violence (NNEDV), a network of state domestic violence coalitions, accepted the grant and distributed the funding to each of the local domestic violence nonprofits.
The Family Crisis Center of Prince George’s County will receive $8,000 and will use the grant to support its mission to provide families programs that foster independence, economic stability and overall well-being.
Allstate volunteers earned the $253,000 grant for their local domestic violence organizations by collecting much-needed items during a supply drive held in November and December, coinciding with the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence. The supply drive was part of a multi-state Allstate Foundation Purple Purse® effort that benefitted nonprofits supporting survivors of domestic violence throughout Connecticut, Delaware, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Washington D.C. and West Virginia.
