• Laurel City Council restores funding to The Laurel Independent (streetcarsuburbs.news) — Laurel’s City Council has overridden Mayor Keith Sydnor’s vetoes, restoring $45,000 in city funding for The Laurel Independent while again removing $1 million for a proposed housing assistance program. After weeks of debate and a packed Municipal Center meeting, councilmembers pledged to keep working with the mayor and community on how best to support local renters and information access.
