• WSSC Water moves to next phase after essential water alert lifted (dcnewsnow.com) — Laurel residents are now cleared to resume normal water use after WSSC Water lifted its essential-use-only alert and shifted to fully restoring the Potomac Water Filtration Plant's electrical systems. Crews and engineers are still working to return the plant to normal operations and strengthen its resilience so future outages are less disruptive for customers across the region.
   

• Hopkins Collaboration Expands Access to Maritime Testing and Advanced Sensing (jhuapl.edu) — Work at Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory in Laurel is helping engineering students design cheaper, more portable unmanned surface vessels for maritime testing and optical sensing. Their capstone project, guided by APL mentors, could speed up national security research while showcasing Laurel's role in cutting-edge engineering collaboration.
