Carjacker Attacks Woman Filling Up Vehicle In Laurel: Police

A woman who was putting gas in her vehicle was attacked by a carjacker in Laurel, according to Anne Arundel County Police.

LAUREL, MD — A woman who was putting gas in her vehicle was attacked by a carjacker in Laurel Monday night, according to Anne Arundel County Police. The theft took place just before 8:30 p.m. in the 3300 block of Laurel Fort Meade Road in Laurel. The 56-year-old victim reported that while she was getting gas, a man pulled her out of her vehicle and drove away onto Laurel Fort Meade Road.

Police quickly located the vehicle on Laurel Fort Meade Road and attempted to stop the vehicle. But the suspect failed to stop and officer say he intentionally rammed the rear of a police vehicle, disabling both vehicles.

Officers then took Mehran Mianrood, 38, of no fixed address, into custody without incident. He was charged with carjacking and other offenses.

No injuries were reported during the carjacking.
