Christmas Products Now In Stores + Hope For Those Facing Eviction
Welcome to the Laurel Daily! This is your go-to for everything going on in the community.

Good day, people of Laurel! It's me again, Alexis Goring, your host of the Laurel Daily.
First, today's weather:
Considerable clouds. High: 74 Low: 62.
Here are the top three stories today in Laurel:
- The Marshalls in the Laurel Shopping Center already has Christmas displays and products available in its store and it is not the only one. Retailers have already started marketing, advertising and selling holiday decorations as early as late September. Believe it or not, a name has been created for this behavior. It's called the Christmas Creep. You can look up the definition in Merriam Webster. According to a survey conducted by market research company NPD, the majority of shoppers plan on buying gifts as early as October. (WUSA9.com)
- Teenage apprentice Bryson Butterfly picked up his first winner at Laurel Park when Alpha Queue cruised to a front-running 7 ¼-length triumph in Friday's opener. It was the 18th career win from 179 mounts for Butterfly. Alpha Queue ran six furlongs in 1:10.84 over a fast main track. (Past The Wire)
- If you are a renter who is facing eviction in Prince George's County, there is help available. Prince George's County distributed nearly double the amount of rental assistance dollars compared to its neighboring counties. However, frustration is growing among the 7,000 applicants who are still waiting for their funds to go through the system. (WTOP)
