Work Schedule: 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM Monday – Friday

SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The person in this position operates a multi-line telephone system to answer incoming calls and directs callers to appropriate personnel; welcomes visitors, determines nature of business, and directs visitors to appropriate personnel; assists with the efficient processing of Passport applicants and monitors visitor access and issues security and visitor passes. This position is responsible for processing incoming and outgoing mail, maintaining adequate postage on the meter and keeping displays of City brochures, handouts, and Passport documents fully stocked. Spanish speaking preferred.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Possession of a high school diploma from an accredited school or GED certificate. Minimum of one year customer service experience. Ability to operate a computer terminal or Personal Computer. Must be able to use typical word processing software such as Microsoft Word and spreadsheet software such as Microsoft Excel. Able to learn and apply other office software and automated office procedures. Able to type 25 words per minute and produce work that meets departmental formatting requirements. Must be a U.S. citizen and possess, or have the ability to acquire within six months of hire, certification from the Department of State as a Passport Agent.

MUST BE ABLE TO PASS A PRE-EMPLOYMENT PHYSICAL, DRUG SCREENING AND A CRIMINAL RECORD BACKGROUND CHECK.
