- The City of Laurel Department of Economic and Community Development is celebrating Small Business Saturday on Nov. 27. Stop by 378 Main Street in Laurel from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. for a day of local shopping. - Governor Larry Hogan recently announced Maryland as the first state in the country to become a partner in the U.S. Department of Energy's (DOE) Better Climate Challenge. Secretary Ben Grumbles of the Maryland Department of the Environment (MDE) signed the "lead by example" partnership agreement that commits the state to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in state government operations by at least 50% within 10 years. - Despite major opposition to a redistricting proposal in Prince George's County, council members voted on Tuesday in favor of moving ahead with the plan. The county council's vote to move forward followed about six hours of testimony including more than 150 speakers, who were all opposed to the plan and urged council members to reject it. (WTOP)

- Fairland Advanced Beginner's Ride — Calling all advanced beginners who want to join a non-competitive ride or refer a more social and casual ride. Wheels rolling at 6:00 p.m. Even though this ride is beginner oriented, the expectation is to be able to ride 8 to 10 miles on off road trails. The standard pace to keep is 4 to 6 mph.
