Here are the top three stories today in Laurel:
- Forever Maryland recently announced the awarding of 85 grants totaling $320,000 have been awarded toward environmental education, community cleanup and beautification projects through the Keep Maryland Beautiful program. Keep Maryland Beautiful recipients includes schools, nonprofit groups, municipalities and land trusts in 20 counties. Eight grants were given to Prince George's County. (SoMdNews.com)

- Students in Prince George's County are required to take a coronavirus test and upload results before returning from spring break. Monica Goldson, the CEO of Prince George's County Public Schools, said all students will receive COVID-19 home test kits by the end of the week. Results must be shared before students are scheduled to return April 19. (WTOP)

- Photography & Words: A Workshop for Family Caregivers in Tenley-Friendship Neighborhood Library in NW D.C.—This workshop is for family caregivers and others who want to learn a way to help with any loved ones who need care. In conjunction with IONA Senior Services, we offer "Photography & Words: A Workshop for Family Caregivers". It is a four-part workshop offers family caregivers an opportunity to process the day-to-day experience, as well as a time for reflection. Sharing archival images and making new ones, participants add words and find a space for conversation, listening and enjoying a time-out. Anyone is welcome to join the group. It is ideal if you are currently a caregiver, but participants can relate the material to any loved one. Materials and cameras provided. Karen Ruckman is a photographer and workshop teacher.
