Flags Flown At Half-Staff In Honor Of Lance Cpl. Eugene C. Mills III
Flags are being flown at half-staff Wednesday until Thursday 7 a.m. in honor of Lance Cpl. Eugene C. Mills III who was killed 10 years ago.
LAUREL, MD — Flags were lowered to half-staff Wednesday to pay respect to Lance Cpl. Eugene C. Mills, III, who was killed in the line of duty in Afghanistan in 2012. Today marked the 10th anniversary of his death.
Mills was Laurel’s first "hometown hero" to receive a banner that still flies high on Cherry Lane. Laurel Mayor Craig A. Moe said the city was “honored to hang this banner for a beloved member of the Laurel community."
Flags will remain at half-staff until 7 a.m. Thursday.
