Foot Chase Ends With Arrest for Guns, Crack Cocaine

An armed man accused of selling drugs led police on a foot chase in Laurel Tuesday. He faces multiple charges.

LAUREL, MD — A suspected drug dealer led police on a foot chase through part of Laurel Tuesday before he was caught.

Anne Arundel County Police received a call about 2:40 p.m. that Juwaun Marcelle Norbrey, 23, with no fixed address, was carrying a gun in the 200 block of Red Clay Road in Laurel. Officers saw Norbrey outside a building on the street.

As officers approached Norbrey, he fled on foot. Multiple police officers joined in the foot chase, and Norbrey was caught in the 400 block of Barbersville South.

Authorities recovered a Kel-Tec handgun chambered to shoot 5.56mm rifle ammunition, 11.44 grams of suspected crack cocaine with an estimated street value of $1,030 and $1,020 in cash.

The suspect was prohibited from possessing firearms.

Norbrey is charged with: CDS possession with intent to distribute, CDS possession not marijuana, handgun on person, possession of firearm during drug trafficking crime, and CDS distribute with firearm.
