🌱 GEICO Office To Open In Laurel + Local Spring Cleaning Events

Happy Saturday, people of Laurel! Here's everything you need to know about what's happening today in Laurel.


First, today's weather:

Here are the top four stories in Laurel today:

  1. Pet owners in Laurel can take their pets next door to Bowie for a low-cost rabies and microchipping clinic today (April 2) that will be held Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the parking lot behind Bowie City Hall. Shots and microchipping cost $10 each. Prince George's County pet licenses also can be purchased at the event. This event is cash only for all services. (Patch)
  2. A new GEICO agent has signed a 2,110-square-foot lease at the Centre at Laurel. The local GEICO agent, William Gunn, will occupy Suite 702, situated directly across from the Chick-fil-A when he opens later this spring. (Commercial Observer)
  3. Mayor Moe and the City of Laurel have announced their annual Spring Clean-Up events! During the months of April and May, the Department of Public Works will be holding various events and specials to help our residents clean up their homes and gardens.   4. Multiple restaurants at MGM National Harbor in Prince George's County will be serving dishes that pay homage to the D.C. area's symbol of spring (Cherry Blossoms). Dishes include but are not limited to: the braised short rib with sherried cherry sauce at Voltaggio Brothers Steak House; TAP Sports Bar's "Cherried Fashioned," and a hanami roll with pink soy wrapped yellowtail at Bento.
