Laurel Fun in the Sun Rescheduled

Laurel’s Fun in the Sun day planned for Saturday has a new date because it was likely to miss one key element: the sun.

The forecast in Laurel for Saturday calls for a high of 77 degrees with thunderstorms in the morning and a 50 percent chance of rain throughout the day, according to The Weather Channel -- not the best day to be outside.

Due to the weather, the Fun in the Sun event has been rescheduled for Sunday, Aug. 10, beginning at noon.

Join the Laurel Parks Parks and Recreation staff at Greenview Drive Pool, 14403 Greenview Drive, for a day of music, aerobic demonstrations and barbecues throughout the day.

Attendees can either use a pool pass, if you have one, or pay the daily admission fee. Save the date on your calendar.
