  2. Maryland's champion 2-year-old filly of 2021 Luna Belle has been unbeaten through three starts at 3. Now, she goes after her fifth consecutive stakes victory and a chance at possible graded glory in Saturday's $125,000 Weber City Miss at Laurel Park. (Paulick Report)
  3. A Laurel resident, Thomas Eugene Whiting, faces charges following an armed carjacking earlier this month in Montgomery County. He was arrested and charged in connection with an armed carjacking in the 260 block of Congressional Lane in Rockville on April 6. (WTOP)
  4. Governor Larry Hogan recently announced nearly $10 million in grant awards through the new Community Safety Works program to more than 300 business districts and nonprofit organizations across Maryland. This will advance a key plank of his Re-Fund The Police Initiative. The grants were awarded in two categories: business district improvements and facility improvements that support projects and activities to make public and private spaces safer. (Maryland.gov)

  • Holy Week Services at Our Savior Lutheran Church—Prepare your heart for the resurrection this Holy Week this Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Join us in-person or online as we worship our Savior, Jesus Christ. It was on Maundy Thursday that Jesus instituted the blessed sacrament of communion. On Good Friday, He took our sins upon Himself and gave His life for ours.
