Laurel Residents Have a New Way to Donate Used Goods and Support Vietnam Veterans of America

Laurel community members now have a brand new way to donate their gently used and unwanted goods, while supporting the Vietnam Veterans of America at the same time.

The Savers family of thrift stores opened three new places to donate—called Donation Drop Spots—in Maryland, including one in Laurel! The new Donation Drop Spot, located across from the Safeway on Baltimore Ave., is open from 9 am – 5 pm and is currently accepting donations of gently-used clothing and household items on behalf of the Vietnam Veterans of America (VVA).

The Vietnam Veterans of America and Savers have been working together since 2007, and the new Donation Drop Spots are an extension of the partnership, offering residents aconvenient way to continue benefiting the community. If you have unwanted gently-used goods, you can simply stop by the convenient store-front location, leave your donations with the store attendant, and pick up a tax receipt before heading off to finish the rest of your errands.

All donations received on behalf of the VVA will then sold in Savers, Unique Thrift and Value Village stores in Maryland. Savers responsibly recycles anything that can’t be resold and ultimately saves more than 650 million pounds of quality used goods from landfills each year.

Savers partners with more than 150 nonprofits, like the VVA, across the country, which means that people can know that when they shop and donate at Savers they are supporting a great nonprofit and helping their local community.
