Happy Thursday, neighbors! Here's everything you need to know going on in town today.


First, today's weather:

Showers and a heavier t-storm. High: 72 Low: 50.


Here are the top three stories today in Laurel:

  1. On Tuesday, police were called to an armed robbery in the 9100 block of Scott Adam Court in Laurel. After arriving on the scene, they discovered a male victim who had been stabbed multiple times. He was taken to a local hospital and is undergoing treatment for his injuries. Police have not yet obtained have information on how many people were involved or whether there was a motive. (FOX 5 DC)
  2. Maryland University of Integrative Health (MUIH) is promoting its RD/RDN-DCN Pathway. This is an opportunity for Registered Dietitians/Registered Dietitian Nutritionists to earn their Doctor of Clinical Nutrition without first having to earn a master's degree. Dr. James Snow, Interim Department Chair for Nutrition, said, "Students learn a model of individualized nutrition-based care that addresses the root causes of illness and disease, and is applicable to the chronic, complex health issues that are prevalent today."   3. Award-winning actress Tichina Arnold visited Bowie State University's Performing Arts Center on March 25 to speak about Gabriel Crypto. It's a newly developed app that protects individuals from spam calls or phishing. Arnold, who was a victim of a scam, said, "Scamming is a crime and a $32 billion dollar a year problem for individuals, law enforcement, and our economy. That's why it is imperative that people use the Gabriel Crypto App to protect themselves from thieves."(Bowie State University)
