Here are the top three stories in Laurel today:
- According to Patch reporter Kristin Danley-Greiner, people who want to support humanitarian efforts in Ukraine should listen to the warning issued by the Maryland Secretary of State and Attorney General that there are scams out there. It is important to do research before giving your money. Note that the Office of the Secretary of State registers and regulates charitable organizations that solicit contributions in Maryland. - A new food pantry will be established in Laurel at St. Philip's Church out of its "Little Chapel" at 6th & Prince George Street that is in conjunction with the Capital Area Food Bank. It will serve people from Laurel and the surrounding areas. (City of Laurel)
- Prince George's County Executive Angela D. Alsobrooks recently endorsed Wes Moore for the Democratic nomination for governor. Alsobrooks called Moore "the leader we need in this moment." Alsobrooks said that she has "seen Wes Moore connect with people and bring them together to chart a vision for the future." She thinks that Wes Moore has "the vision, integrity, and the ability" to move Maryland forward and "deliver for families in Prince George's County and across Maryland." (WTOP)

- In Freedom's Name—Enjoy this touring exhibit in Laurel that celebrates the military service and sacrifice of Black Marylanders throughout history. The exhibit features 38 panels that include 63 major stories and 245 photographs and images. It explores the stories of Marylanders and Prince Georgians whose courage and service are an inspiration for young people and adults alike. (10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.)
