MakingChange Offers "Basics of Investing"

MakingChange, a local nonprofit organization that is changing lives by empowering individuals and families to achieve financial stability, will facilitate a free financial workshop on "Basics of Investing," on Tuesday, Oct. 11, noon-1:30 p.m. and again at 6-7:30 p.m., at the Howard County MultiService Center, 9900 Washington Blvd., Suite 1, in Laurel.

Other free workshops, also held on Tuesdays, from noon-1:30 and again from 6-7:30 p.m., include "Your Money and Your Job" on Nov. 15, "Identity Theft" on Dec. 13, and "Retirement Planning" on Jan. 10, 2017. Reserve your space by contacting mscinfo@howardcountymd.gov or by calling 410-313-0220.

MakingChange develops and delivers financial education programs. It provides group seminars and personal coaching to teach people to manage their money and change their lives. Its programs are offered in schools, human service agencies and businesses. It currently hosts seminars attended by over 700 people per year and meets with approximately 100 clients for personal financial coaching. It prepared tax returns for 453 people last year.
