Officers arrested one individual for a weapons violation in Brooklyn Park; there was also a shooting in Severn that left a 16-year-old injured. Closer to home, police say a man was robbed by suspects armed with a baseball bat near Ellerton South and Old Line Avenue in Laurel.
- Click over to the MD Theatre Guide to read an interview with a local theater pro. Maureen Rogers is the Artistic Director and Public Liaison of Laurel Mill Playhouse. Rogers talks about the theater's first official re-opening after two years of closure this upcoming weekend.
- Professionals from around the world had the opportunity to polish their tech and communications skills on Tuesday, December 14. Laurel's own Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratories hosted a free all-day Virtual Workshop on 5G Technologies for First Responder and Tactical Networks. The workshop provided a chance for essential workers, academics and researcher/developer teams to share ideas and learn more about operating in the 5G system. (Johns Hopkins APL)
