Murder Charges Filed in Laurel-Area Homicide: Police
Prince George's County Police say an acquaintance fatally shot a Capitol Heights man in Laurel area and is now in jail on murder charges.

LAUREL, MD — A suspect is in custody on a charge of first-degree murder in the recent shooting death of an acquaintance in the Laurel area, say Prince George's County Police.
Authorities said Monday they have arrested Alvin Vaughn, 41, of no fixed address in the slaying of Gregory Myles, 46, of Malachite Place in Capitol Heights.
Gunshots were reported about 9 p.m. on Nov. 20 in the 13200 block of Deerfield Road in the Laurel area. Police officers found Myles inside a home suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators say Vaughn argued with Myles, which led to the shooting. The suspect and the victim were acquaintances.
Vaughn is charged with first-degree murder. He is in the custody of the Department of Corrections on a no-bond status.
