Ned Tillman Will Share How to Record Family History for Descendants
Residences at Vantage Point Hosts Earth Scientist Discussing His New Book, "Good Endeavour: A Maryland Family's Turbulent History 1695-2003"

Residences at Vantage Point Arts & Culture Collective will continue its recent focus on memoir and life stories in its Fall 2023 series. The first in the four in-person programs features local environmentalist Ned Tillman discussing his latest book, “Good Endeavour: A Maryland Family’s Turbulent History 1695-2003.”
Tillman’s book is a multigenerational family saga and a window into the evolution of the nation we live in today, addressing efforts to create a politically, socially, and economically diverse society. “A Conversation with Ned Tillman” showcases the author in dialogue with Tim Singleton, co-chair of the Howard County Poetry and Literature Society (HoCoPoLitSo). The free program is set for Tuesday, Sept. 12, 7-8 p.m., in the auditorium at Residences at Vantage Point.

Tuesday, Sept. 26, 7-8 p.m.: “Tips on Writing Your Own Memoir” features George Clack, the popular Howard Community College teacher who recently completed his own memoir. Clack will offer suggestions to attendees on telling their own life stories.
Tuesday, Oct. 10, 7-8 p.m.: “A Presentation on Happiness” includes professor and poet Tara Hart’s sharing timeless lessons and contemporary research about what makes us happy. Hart is Professor of English, Arts & Humanities at Howard Community College and co-chair of HoCoPoLitSo.

Tuesday, Oct. 24, 7-8 p.m.: “An Art Talk and Reminiscence” by retired Army Colonel Al Biegel concludes the series. Biegel, a Holocaust survivor and painter for the past 60 years, will discuss how art impacted a soldier’s life.
