Morning, Laurel! Let's get this day started. Here's everything you need to know today in town.
First, today's weather:

Here are the top three stories today in Laurel:
- Bird Mobberley and Grady Griffin's Galerio, will go after his second stakes victory by tackling six rivals in this Saturday's $100,000 Harrison E. Johnson Memorial at Laurel Park. The 36th running of the Johnson for 4-year-olds and up, is among five stakes worth $450,000 in purses on an 11-race program co-headlined by the $100,000 Private Terms for 3-year-olds and $100,000 Beyond the Wire for 3-year-old fillies. (Laurel Park)
- Two bills in the Maryland General Assembly would spend millions of dollars in order to refurbish Oriole Park at Camden Yards and M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore and improve existing sports entertainment facilities, including minor league baseball parks, and establish new ones. It's not clear whether the Washington Commanders will stay in Landover or move to Virginia or D.C. However, Prince George's County Executive Angela Alsobrooks said that the Landover-Largo area remains choice territory for a world-class sports entertainment destination. (WTOP)
- Governor Larry Hogan recently announced that Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI) set a new annual record for cargo operations in 2021, with more than 618.8 million pounds of cargo transported. In 2021, BWI's cargo operations accounted for more than 55% of the total air cargo flown through the region's three major commercial airports. BWI's increase in cargo volumes has been fueled by growth of the e-commerce industry during the pandemic. (Maryland.gov)
