Persons of Interest in Laurel Hotel Shooting Shown on Video

A 19-year-old man was critically injured in a shooting at Knights Inn in Laurel. Two men caught on video are named persons of interest.

Laurel, MD — A man shot Saturday afternoon at a Laurel motel remains hospitalized in critical condition, authorities say, while surveillance images of two persons of interest were released Tuesday evening.

The shooting was reported about 3 p.m. Saturday at the Knights Inn, 3380 Laurel Fort Meade Road. Anne Arundel County Police say a 19-year-old victim was shot in the upper body.

The victim remains at Maryland Shock Trauma in critical but stable condition.

Witnesses at the motel told investigators that two black males approached the victim and after a brief conversation, one of the suspects pulled out a gun and shot the teen.

Detectives have developed two persons of interest in the shooting; they were captured on video surveillance at a McDonald’s restaurant just before the shooting.
