Seeds of Inspiration With Emmanuel: Are You Claiming Your First Class Kingdom Benefits?

A bi-weekly newsletter interconnecting faith, politics, and philanthropy to both believers and non-believers in the Laurel area and beyond.

A gentleman was presented with an all expensed paid trip overseas. The sponsor purchased a first class ticket for him and on the flight he refused every offer from the flight attendants including warm towels, food and drink amenities. When he arrived at his destination, his host welcomed him and asked, “How was your flight?” He said, “it was good, but I have not eaten for the last ten hours.” So his host asked if he was served any meals on the flight. He replied by saying, “They did but I did not want to use my money to pay.” His host was surprised at his answer because the traveler’s ticket was all-inclusive. The traveler was amazed to hear this, but it was too late.

Salvation can be likened to the traveler’s ticket. When one is saved he is drafted into the Kingdom of God. The Kingdom has its blessings and benefits. Understanding the Kingdom, your status in the Kingdom, and the power and benefits of the Kingdom will not only enhance your walk with the Lord, but also positively influence your life, community and people around you.

Jesus emphasized the importance of the Kingdom of God through his parables. The Kingdom of God is both present and future. Present in the sense that Jesus’ life and ministry inaugurated it; and future; His second coming and its aftermath would culminate it. The Kingdom of God is the rule and influence of God in the affairs of men. When we talk about Kingdom, we are talking about a King and his domain or sphere of Jurisdiction. When God created man he placed man on earth to have dominion over the earth on His behalf. Man failed when he listened to the devil. He lost his place as a ruler on earth. Jesus’ life and ministry began the restoration of man’s dominion over the earth.

According to Matthew 12:29 a demon possessed, blind and mute man was brought to Jesus for healing. Jesus healed him, but He was accused of healing the man by the power of the devil. Jesus seized the moment to teach about the Kingdom of God. Jesus noted that a house divided against itself shall not stand. The coming of the Kingdom of God is manifested in an atmosphere of unity. When Beelzebub accused Jesus of casting out devils he responded, “If I cast out demons by the Spirit of God, then the Kingdom of God has come.” Jesus’ statement implies that the manifestation of the power of God for healing and transformation in your life is an indication that the Kingdom of God Has Come. In the same context Jesus noted that one couldn’t enter into another man’s house and plunder his goods unless he is stronger than the owner of the house. The reestablishment and restoration of what has been stolen or taken from God’s people, is an indication that the “Kingdom of God Has Come.”

The concept of the Kingdom of God is key to a victorious Christian life on earth. Believers are Kingdom citizens, Kingdom ambassadors and Kingdom soldiers. Those who belong to the Kingdom must learn and understand Kingdom protocols, Kingdom culture, Kingdom conduct and character to be able to position themselves for Kingdom blessings and benefits that comes with the travel ticket---The Kingdom package.
