Stabbing Suspect in Custody on Attempted Murder Charges

A man described by Anne Arundel County Police as a regular at Laurel motels is charged with stabbing a woman multiple times.

LAUREL, MD — A man was arrested Monday for stabbing a woman repeatedly at a Laurel motel, authorities say.

Anne Arundel County Police said the attack happened April 13 at the Red Crown Inn, 3440 Laurel Fort Meade Road.

The 25-year-old victim was stabbed multiple times, police say, and was taken to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Police describe the woman’s alleged attacker -- Dave Adams Benissan-C, 25, of Laurel – as a known associate of the victim and someone who frequents Laurel motels.

Benissan-C is charged with first- and second-degree attempted murder, first-degree assault, second-degree assault, and reckless endangerment.

Authorities said Monday that the victim is recovering and has been upgraded to stable condition.
