- Over 40% of Trinity Washington University's full-time undergraduate students opened their emails from the university July 23 to learn they will start the school year with a clean financial slate because the university paid off their outstanding debts. Anissa Young, a rising junior student from Laurel, was among the recipients of this great gift that erased tuition debt for 540 students of this university. (America Magazine)
- Training camp is here. The Washington Football Team reported to Richmond for the first day of camp on Tuesday and now the countdown begins for the first preseason game. One of the potential players in 2021 is Laurel resident Jaret Patterson. Patterson is a player who could excite fans in the preseason. He once ran for over 400 yards and eight touchdowns in a college game. (Redskins Wire)
- New rankings show how nursing homes stack up when it comes to staff members who have been vaccinated against COVID-19. Of the nearly three dozen nursing homes in Maryland, more than 90% or more of staff members are vaccinated. According to the data, 97% of the staff working for Autumn Lake Healthcare At Cherry Lane in Laurel are vaccinated. (WTOP)

- Uhuru Quilters Guild Exhibit — Montpelier House Museum presents the latest creations of the Uhuru Quilters Guild.
