5K to Benefit People with Intellectual Disabilities
Registration for the Run Your Art Out 5K and Fun Run in Silver Spring is still open.

It’s not too late to register for the Run Your Art Out 5K and one mile Fun Run.
The event taking place Saturday, Oct. 18, benefits Compass, an organization that supports individuals with intellectual disabilities. The organization helps individuals through Community Living Programs, Day and Employment Programs and Individual Support Service Programs.
Proceeds from the 5K and Fun Run will be used to renovate Compass’s Arts Building in Mount Rainier.

The event will take place at Martin Luther King Junior Recreation Park, 1120 Jackson Road, Silver Spring.
Registration is open for the event until Oct. 17. The cost is $35 per runner for the 5K and $18 for the one-mile Fun Run/Walk. Participants will also receive a T-shirt.

Check-in for the run begins at 7:30 a.m. on race day and will go until 8:15 a.m. The race begins at 8:30 a.m., followed by the one-mile Fun Run at 9:30 a.m.
Awards will be given to first- and second-place male and female runners in the 5K. All children who finish the fun run will be given a special prize.
