• Montgomery County committee advances bill that would raise street takeover fines to $5K (wjla.com) — Montgomery County lawmakers are moving forward with a bill that would sharply increase fines for illegal street takeovers, racing, and stunt driving—penalties that would apply on Montgomery Village roads too. A council committee has endorsed raising the maximum fine to $5,000 and allowing police to tow involved vehicles, with the full council still needing to vote before it becomes law.
