East Village Vexed by Rock-Throwing Vandals
Investigators have tracked nine incidents and are asking other victims to come forward.

Rock-throwing vandals have barraged the East Village Avenue corridor in two waves over the past six weeks, pelting at least three passing cars and the windows or sliding-glass doors of at least six homes.
The outburst started at the end of November, when two homes and three vehicles were hit on consecutive days, according to Montgomery County Police.
The second of those victims was headed eastbound on Warfield Road shortly after 6pm on Nov. 30, after picking up her son from Goshen Elementary School, her husband told Patch. As she approached the intersection with Doubleland Road, there was an impact on the side of the car. After backtracking to the school to see if she had run something over, a projectile struck the windshield—possibly a brick, her husband said—with enough force that it shattered the glass and nearly went through into the car.

The sliding-glass door of a home a few hundred yards away was smashed less than an hour later.
After a month-long lull, the past two Saturdays saw four East Village homes vandalized with rocks.
