UPDATE:Elderly Woman Found Alone, Confused at Safeway Store

Montgomery County Police needed the public to help identify an elderly woman found alone and unable to communicate.

UPDATED at 5:10 p.m.

An elderly woman found at a Montgomery County grocery store alone and confused cannot tell authorities who she is or where she lives.

Police asked for the public to help identify the woman. Authorities said late Wednesday afternoon that the woman had been identified and is being reunited with family. They did not disclose other details.

Officers were called to the Safeway Store in the 19700 block of Germantown Road in Germantown around 8 p.m. Tuesday after a store employee noticed the woman appeared confused and in need of assistance. The elderly woman was unable to communicate with police and was taken to a local hospital for a check-up.

The woman is an African American, 4’8”, 95 pounds, and possibly in her late 80s to early 90s.
