Five Burglaries, Two Juvenile Robberies

The following is from the most recent crime summary for the Montgomery County Police Department's Sixth District, which covers Montgomery Village and Gaithersburg.

  • An attempted rape was reported in the 9800 block of Sailfish Terrace in South Village on Thursday, May 5. The suspect is known to the victim. The investigation is ongoing.
  • A residential burglary occurred in the 9400 block of Horizon Run Road in Horizon Run on Thursday, May 5. Suspects entered the residence and removed undisclosed property. There were no signs of force.
  • A residential burglary occurred in the 9500 block of Horizon Run Road in Horizon Run on Friday, May 6. Two suspects entered the occupied residence, displayed a handgun and demanded property. The suspects are described as black males 17 or 18 years old and wearing all black clothing. One is 5’9” tall, weighs 180 pounds and wore a black ski mask; the other is 6’0” tall, weighs 300 pounds and wore a red bandana.
  • Two motorcycles were stolen from the parking lot the Walkers House Apartments in Montgomery Village between 1:40 a.m. and 2:10 a.m. on Wednesday, May 11. Both bikes had Maryland tags. One is an orange 2009 Yamaha; the other is a white 2011 Suzuki. Police believe two suspects are involved. The first suspects is described as a white male, 5’5” to 5’6” tall, weighing 150 pounds and wearing a black leather jacket. The second suspect is described as a Hispanic male, 5’10” to 6’0” tall and weighing 160 pounds.
  • A strong-arm robbery occurred at Merust Lane and Stewartown Road outside Gaithersburg at around 9:15 p.m. on Wednesday, May 11. An adult male was approached by several suspects, who demanded money and removed his property. The group was spotted 40 minutes later in the same area. A 16-year-old from Gaithersburg and 17-year-old from Montgomery Village were arrested. The investigation is ongoing.
  • A strong-armed robbery occurred in the area of Washingtonian at Rio shopping center in Gaithersburg at 10:30 p.m. on Friday, May 13. Two juvenile males were accosted by as many as seven suspects. One of the victims had cash removed from his pockets. A 12-year-old boy from Montgomery Village was located and arrested.
  • A residential burglary occurred in the 19400 block of Thomas Farm Road in Maryland Place on Friday, May 13. Forced entry; property removed.
  • A residential burglary occurred in the 10100 block of Watkins Mill Road in Gaithersburg on Friday, May 13. Forced entry; property removed.
  • A residential burglary occurred in the 9600 block of Shadow Oak Drive in Northgate on Monday, May 16. Forced entry; property removed.
