Investigations Include Sexual Assault, Burglaries and Firing of Handgun

Latest police summary covers Feb. 7 through Feb. 15.

The following is from the most recent crime summary for the Montgomery County Police Department's Sixth District, which covers Montgomery Village and Gaithersburg.

  • A sexual assault between known parties occurred in the 19400 block of Brassie Place between 7 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday Feb. 9. Police arrested the alleged victim’s 23-year-old boyfriend.
  • A residential burglary and vehicle theft occurred in the 9800 block of Hellingly Place in Christopher Court between 5:30 a.m. and 11:55 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 10. After losing his keys, the resident returned home to find the bedrooms ransacked, property missing and his vehicle gone. Later, a 51-year-old male bailed out of the stolen car on Georgia Avenue in Washington, D.C. while being pursued by U.S. Park Police. They arrested the man following a short pursuit on foot. The suspect has no fixed address. The investigation is ongoing.
  • A vehicle theft occurred on Cross Country Court in Strawberry Knoll at around 8:20 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 11. The vehicle was running and unattended when it was taken. Police arrested a 21-year-old Gaithersburg man later that night.
  • A residential burglary occurred in the 10200 block of Millstream Drive near Watkins Mill High School between 10:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 12. There was no sign of forced entry; property was reported missing.
  • A weapons violation occurred in the 17800 block of Washington Grove Lane in Washington Grove at around 6 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 12. An intoxicated man allegedly discharged a handgun in the air. The gun was recovered nearby and a 36-year-old Washington Grove resident was arrested.
