The camp allows elementary and middle school kids to play a variety of sports with
Watkins Mill High School coaches and athletes. The campers do a different sport
everyday โ sports and activities include football, baseball, lacrosse, soccer field
hockey, basketball, cheer, wrestling, poms, drama, and drum line. โItโs a great way
for kids to explore activities they might never have tried,โ said camp director Lydia
Leecost. โThey discover hidden talents they never knew they had.โ
The camp is also a perfect way for kids to get comfortable with the high school.
โSome kids have been going to this camp for four years now,โ said Sabrina Murray,
camp co-director. โBy the time they come to Watkins Mill they know everybody,
they know their way around campus, they know the coaches, they know
upperclassmen. They feel confident and ready for high school.โ
March to the Mill runs June 15 - 19 and 22 - 26, 10:30 AM through 3:30 PM. Cost is
$99 per session or $189ย for both sessions.
Every camper gets a free tee shirt and pinnie and free admission with a paying adult
to select Watkins Mill football games and other sporting events. A limited number of
scholarships are available. Those interested in camp scholarships should contact
their school principals.
