Montgomery County Public Schools will open two hours late on Tuesday, Jan. 6, due to weather.
A winter weather advisory is in effect until 1 p.m. in Montgomery County.
Buses will operate on a two-hour delay Tuesday, the school system announced.

Administrative offices will open on time, and day care programs in school buildings will remain open as scheduled.
The following are canceled, according to the announcement:

- All field trips
- Morning prekindergarten
- Morning half-day Head Start
- Other morning half-day programs
- Activities and programs that begin at 10:30 a.m. or earlier
Montgomery County has activated its snow emergency plan, meaning vehicles cannot park on roads designated as snow emergency routes.
