MONTGOMERY VILLAGE, MD — Two women have been hospitalized after two dogs attacked them inside a Montgomery Village home on Saturday night. While the residents suffered significant injuries, they are expected to recover, according to Montgomery County Police.

Officials responded to the 18000 block of Singing Pine Circle for the report of an assault around 8:50 p.m. on Saturday. Police said two dogs had attacked two adult females inside the home. One woman managed to escape, while the other was still being attacked inside the residence. They tried rescuing the second woman, but the dogs would not back down.

"We don't want to have to shoot dogs, but it was what we had to do," said Montgomery County police spokesman C. Thomas Jordan.
