Robbery Reports Continue to Climb

This crime summary is from the weekly report for March 26 through April 3 from the Montgomery County Police Department's 6th District station, which covers Montgomery Village and Gaithersburg.
An armed robbery occurred in the parking lot of the Safeway grocery store in the Goshen Oaks shopping center—20211 Goshen Road, near East Village—at around 3:35pm on Tuesday, March 27. The suspect threatened the victim with a weapon and obtained property. The suspect is described as a black male, 19 to 21 years old, 5’10” to 6’2” tall, 165 to 195 pounds, and wearing a black hoodie and black dress pants.
A residential burglary occurred in the 18900 block of Smoothstone Way in Herons Cove between 10:15 pm Tuesday, March 27 and 6:45am Wednesday, March 28. No forced entry; property taken.

Two thefts from vehicles occurred in the 8100 block of Beechcraft Avenue, Gaithersburg between 12:50am and 4:30am on Wednesday, March 28. Property taken.

- between 9am and 2:45pm in the 18100 block Royal Bonnet Circle. Unforced entry; property taken from the garage.
- between 7:15am and 6:20pm 9400 block of Royal Bonnet Terrace. Unknown means of entry; nothing taken.
A residential burglary occurred in the 8000 block of Cloverwood Court in Flower Hill between 7:50am and 8pm on Thursday, March 29. Forced entry; property taken.
A robbery occurred at Amesburg Way and Drexel Hill Circle in East Village at around 9:30 pm on Thursday, March 29. The suspect threatened the victim with a weapon and obtained property. The suspect is described as a black male, 19 to 25 years old, 5’8” to 6’0” tall, 150 to 165 pounds, and wearing a tan hoodie and blue jeans.
A residential garage burglary occurred in the 9500 block of Aspenwood Court in Northgate shortly after 6:30pm Friday, March 30. Police arrested a 15-year-old male from Gaithersburg.
A robbery/assault occurred behind South Lake Elementary School at around 10:20pm on Friday, March 30. Two suspects assaulted the victim and obtained property. The suspects are both described as black males wearing black hoodies and blue jeans.
A burglary occurred at Strawberry Knoll Elementary School, 18820 Strawberry Knoll Drive, outside Gaithersburg between noon and 1pm on Saturday, March 31. Forced entry; unknown if anything was taken.
An attempted armed robbery occurred in the 18900 block of Montgomery Village Avenue—near Center Stage and Center Court condominiums—at around 7:45pm on Sunday, April 1. Two suspects assaulted the victim and attempted to obtain property. The first suspect is described as a black male, 20 to 25 years old with short hair. The second suspect is described as a black male with dreadlocks, 15 to 20 years old and 6’ tall.
