Round Two of 5K for Bay to Benefit Restoration, Education Programs
Racers who couldn't register for the first sold-out event have another chance to participate.

Chesapeake Bay Trust has announced the 5K for the Bay. . . Part Deux after the first 5K sold out with over 650 runners.
Those who weren’t able to register for the first race that took place at Quiet Waters Park can choose to run round two of the 5K event in Montgomery County.
“We were so pleased that so many runners, walkers and friends came out to support the Chesapeake Bay Trust through our 5K for the Bay earlier this year,” said Molly Alton Mullins, the Chesapeake Bay Trust director of communications and race director, in a news release. “Unfortunately we had to sell out that race and turn participants away, so we decided to fofer an additional opportunity to explore another one of Maryland’s most stunning outdoor places, Seneca Creek State Park.”

Pre-registration is $30 per runner, $10 for students ages 10 to 17 and free for children nine and under. Leashed pets and jogging strollers are allowed.
“We wanted to make this event really fun and family friendly while also getting people outside raising money for a great cause, restoring the Chesapeake Bay and our natural resources,” Mullins said. “This course will take racers along a beautiful trail around Clopper Lake, and I personally think there is no better time to run in Maryland than during the fall.”
Registration is available online.
