- The AFI International Horror Film Fest screening of Exists at 7:30 p.m. and Call Girl of Cthulhu at 9:45 p.m. in Silver Spring
- Olney Theatre presents Awake and Sing at 8 p.m.
- The band, Hard Swimmin Fish performs an outdoor concert at the Whalen Commons Bandshell in Poolesville at 8 p.m.
- Strathmore presents California Guitar Trio & Montreal Guitar Trio at 8 p.m.
- Rockville Little Theatre presents Cat on a Hot Tin Roof at 8 p.m. at the F. Scott Fitzgerald Theatre

Saturday, October 11
- The third annual International Day of the Girl is celebrated today
- Get in the Halloween spirit with the Haunted Train & Creepy Carousel rides from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Wheaton Regional Park. Great for children 8 and up.
- Take a new Ford for a test drive and support Seneca Valley HS booster club at the Drive 4 UR School event from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Germantown
- Join the community and former Governor Parris Glendening for awalking tour of White Flint at 9:15 a.m.
- Montgomery Planning is co-hosting Ride the Montgomery Modern Bike Tour of mid-century modern architecture in the county from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Registeration required.
- Join the Rockville Bike Advisory Committee for a family bike ride from King Farm to Crown Farm. Come in costume for Kidical Mass: The Costume Ride bginning at 10 a.m. at the King Farm Village Center
- Find a great read at the used book sale at the Silver Spring Library from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- Don’t miss the popular Taste of Bethesda festival which includes five stages of entertainment and amazing food. Woodmont Triangle from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

- Community members are invited to the Great Pumpkin Race and Fall Festival at the North Creek Community Center beginning at 11 a.m.
- Don’t miss the “Eye Spy” Halloween Train at Cabin John Regional Park. Great for children under 8 years of age.
- Families are invited to build your own gingerbread haunted house at the Thomas Farm Community Center from 1:30 to 4 p.m.
- The High Point BBQ Battle takes place at the High Point Farm in Clarksburg from 2 to 9 p.m.
- The AFI International Horror Film Fest screening of A Girl Walks Home Alone At Night at 4:30 p.m. and Suburban Gothic at 7:35 p.m. and The Babadook at 9:45 p.m. in Silver Spring
