Women Robbed at their Front Doors Outside MV

The following arrest information was supplied by Montgomery County Police. It does not indicate a conviction.

The following crime summary covers Nov. 7 through Nov. 15 for the Montgomery County Police Department's Sixth District, which covers Montgomery Village and Gaithersburg.

An aggravated assault occurred at the bus stop at Framingham Drive and Turtle Dove Lane east of Montgomery Village between two juveniles who knew each other. The defendant was arrested at his home after he held a knife to the victim’s chest.

A residential burglary occurred in the 18300 block of Quondal Court near Emory Grove at around 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 10. Forced entry; property removed.

A commercial burglary occurred at the Bright Eyes Daycare, 7305 Hadley Farms Drive outside Montgomery Village, between Friday, Nov. 11 and Saturday, Nov. 12.  Forced entry; property removed.

An attempted burglary occurred at the Kehilat Shalom synagogue between Saturday, Nov. 12 and Sunday, Nov. 13.

Three street robberies occurred on Monday, Nov. 14 within a mile of each other around Washington Grove and Flower Hill. The three victims were women assaulted as they walked to their front door:

  • The first occurred at around 6 p.m. in the 17500 block of Amity Circle outside Washington Grove. A woman was walking to her door when a male suspect charged her, stole her purse and ran off. The suspect is described as wearing blue pants, a black sweater and having a red bandanna over his face.
  • The second occurred in the 7900 block of Coriander Drive in Flower Hill. The victim was approaching her front door when the suspect knocked her down and grabbed her briefcase. The suspect is described as a black male 35 to 40 years old, 6’0” to 6’3” tall, weighing 180 to 190 pounds and wearing a black jacket and a plaid shirt.
  • The third street robbery occurred just after 10 p.m. in the 17600 block of Larchmont Terrace north of Washington Grove. The victim was almost at her door when the suspect came up from behind, struck her in the head and grabbed her purse. The suspect is described as a black male 20 to 30 years old, 6’ tall, weighing 170 to 180 pounds and wearing a black hoodie and black pants.
