1 Dead, 4 Injured in Shooting Outside Shopping Center: Police
Police ask for information from the community about shooting near Hilltop shopping center; call Baltimore Police at 410-396-2100.

Five people were shot, including one fatally, outside the Hilltop shopping center in northwest Baltimore Friday afternoon, according to Baltimore Police.
The shooting occurred at approximately 3 p.m. on the sidewalk near the shopping plaza, which contains the Motor Vehicle Administration office, according to Baltimore Police spokesman Lt. T.J. Smith.
One man was pronounced deceased, while four others (one woman and three men) are stable with injuries ranging from graze wounds to bullets that traveled through them, Smith said at a press conference Friday afternoon outside the shopping center.

He described the shootings as “a brazen act at 3 o’clock in the afternoon” and said that it was unknown whether the individuals were targets.
An officer in the area reported the shooting, according to Smith, who said the entire length of the shopping center has been taped off as a crime scene.

Police had not identified any suspects as of Friday afternoon and asked community members to come forward if they had information about the shooter.
“We’re pretty certain people had to see what happened,” Smith said, because of the public nature of the area.
