AT&T to announce significant contribution to Code In Schools in Baltimore
On Saturday, November 14, more than 75 middle and high schools girls from Baltimore City interested in STEM education have been invited to participate in the 4th annual Girls in STEM Summit. These young women will spend the day attending workshops, watching product demonstrations, and participating in panel discussions with innovative leaders and organizations. This event is sponsored by AT&T, Under Armor, Covergirl, and numerous other industry leaders. La Tara Harris, regional director for AT&T External Affairs, will announce a contribution from AT&T at the event.
The theme this year is the intersection of technology and community action. The young women will be pushed to consider how they can use their interest and ability in STEM to better our communities. There will be a focus on nutrition and fitness app development, and a human powered smoothie bike for participants to ride. Each girl will receive breakfast and lunch during the event, and go home with a swag bag of goodies!
