Baltimore is the Nation's 6th Poorest City: Report

Baltimore ranks in the top 10 poorest big cities in America, according to a CBS report and FindtheHome.com.

In a list of America's 33 largest cities, Baltimore ranks among the poorest, according to a report by findthehome.com and CBS News.

Placing as the sixth poorest city, one-third of the city's population earns under $22,000. Looking at the top wage earners in those 33 cities, Baltimore ranked 22nd, with only 6.4 percent of the population earning more than $150,000, tied with Louisville, KY.

Nearby Washington, D.C. ranked No. 3 among the richest city in the list with 19 percent of its residents earning more than $150,000 per year. Another 25.6 percent of Washington, D.C.'s population have an annual income between $75,000 and $150,000.

Across the nation, Detroit is the No. 1 poorest city and San Francisco tops the list as the nation's richest city.
