Baltimore Traffic Alert: Congestion Anticipated Wednesday

The Maryland Transit Administration advises pedestrian, vehicle traffic will be heavy.

State transportation officials say commuters should anticipate heavy traffic around the Baltimore City Circuit Court and City Hall areas on Wednesday, as pretrial hearings begin for six police officers charged in connection with the death of a man in police custody.

“The Maryland Department of Transportation’s Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) will closely monitor travel conditions downtown on Wednesday, Sept. 2, and adjust services as necessary due to the expected heavy vehicular and pedestrian traffic,” the administration said in a statement.

“The heaviest traffic is expected around Baltimore City Circuit Court and City Hall, and will likely impact local bus service throughout downtown. No diversions are currently planned, though local bus riders should expect delays,” the statement said.
