Baltimore Under Severe Thunderstorm Warning
National Weather Service issues alerts for much of Baltimore-Washington area, including Baltimore City.

A severe thunderstorm warning is in effect until 8:30 p.m. in Baltimore City.
Quarter-size hail and damaging winds above 60 mph are possible, according to the National Weather Service.
The storms were spotted on a line from New Freedom, Pa., to Owings Mills to 7 miles south of Sykesville at approximately 7:30 p.m., according to the weather service. They were moving east at 25 mph.

Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Harford and Howard counties as well as Baltimore City were included in the warning.
A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect for those areas until midnight.

In addition, the National Weather Service has issued a tornado watch for much of the state, including Baltimore City.
The watch is in effect until 8 p.m. on Monday, June 8.
A tornado watch means severe thunderstorms and tornadoes are possible.
Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Carroll, Charles, Frederick, Harford, Howard, Montgomery and Prince George’s counties are included in the watch area.
Baltimore City, the District of Columbia and parts of Virginia are also under the watch.
