On Sunday, June 2, 2012 during the Charles Village Festival folks could purchase tickets to take the 32nd Annual Charles Village Garden Walk, which this year had a special emphasis on bayscaping. A certified wildlife habitat, bird santuary and native species were featured and lots of information was available about what gardeners could do to decrease stormwater runoff.
For the social butterflies there was lemonade, homemade cookies, cool peach tea and ginger water to wet the whistle and break the ice as hosts and guests spoke among silent flowers displaying their colorful glory.
It is always a fun challenge walking the alleyways searching for the t-shirts marking back entrances to gardens where street numbers or block names rarely appear.

This year it was just the right temperature to stroll the sidewalks and stop at up to 28 hidden gardens that hosts made available for viewing. Thank you Charles Village Civic Association and garder tour hosts for your hospitality today.
