In my mail this weekend was The Planetary Report June Solstice 2011 magazine I get as a member of The Planetary Society. This issue introduced a new pullout KIDS section.
There was news about the LIFE project involving sending microorganisms into space to test transpermia (the plausibility of the transport of life between planets) and about the readiness of the LightSail-1 for launching soon into an orbit where we will get to see it "sailing in space" and tidbits, like "the edge of our solar system may not be smooth but, instead, filled with a turbulent sea of magnetic bubbles."
Unfortunately but necessary, there was, too, a summary piece on political management - or mismanagement - of space exploration, "Time for a Course Correction", laying out goals space advocates needed to focus on presently.

Closer to home we are blessed to have in North Baltimore, a local astronomer, who spends much of his time sharing views of the night sky with us. You can locate him online. Much fun can be discovered at a Johns Hopkins Homewood community and children-friendly webpage.

I didn't need to go far to find images to upload related to space because my eye for art seems to gravitate outside the universe sometimes so I have included things now hanging on my wall to provide a little color and depth.
